BambiDiego@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Nintendo seeks default judgement and $17,500 in damages from pirated game streamer who ignored court summonsEnglish171·20 days agoIt could be counted as IP infringement, corporate espionage, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, trademark abuse, and I’m sure various other things an actual lawyer would know.
I hate large companies and corporations, I think Nintendo is extremely horrible with a lot of their practices, especially regarding abandonware, archiving, and emulation, but when someone commits various crimes, especially unapologetically and without a just cause, they’re still a criminal.
This is a case of a selfish prick of a man being a criminal against a selfish prick of a company.
Edit: oh and of course, piracy. (Sail the seas fellas, just not in plain view)
BambiDiego@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•An unvaccinated child has died in the Texas measles outbreak5·3 months agoVaccines are such a charged subject for political reasons (that felt so frustrating to type).
I try to find something analogous. If I had the option to remove a poisonous plant from my home, I didn’t because of personal choice, and my child ate the plant and died, I would consider it neglect.
Legally however, not even judges will agree with each other on this.

We need something like lawmakers having to disclose their tax information annually. If you want to be in office and make millions you should be willing to put your morals on the review table.
I was gonna say, what’s the downside?
Either no deodorant, or something that doesn’t work that says it works, but it definitely doesn’t.
I wish I was high on the potenuse

When you’re right, you’re right.
BambiDiego@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•One dead after Tesla Cybertruck catches fire outside Trump hotel in Las Vegas32·4 months agoA lot of crime happened on this day across the US, why the New Orleans specifically?
Fire can lead to explosions, especially in giant batteries. Also, fireworks.
You saw, and understood the smoke. Many people don’t notice, or don’t question. Some people drive for weeks on low oil and when questioned about why they just say “there was a weird smell, but I didn’t know what it was.”
The explosion was an explosion? Ummm, yeah?
I don’t understand what you’re trying to say, you wouldn’t be surprised of what?

What’s the coincidence? Who is it terrorizing? What was the target?

BambiDiego@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Men Harassed A Woman In A Driverless Waymo, Trapping Her In TrafficEnglish51·7 months agoThat bear didn’t do anything that was unpredictable, it did what a bear does. I never said a bear wouldn’t maul you, treat it as a bear.
I didn’t say women aren’t unpredictable, that’s a weird take at best, and an argument on a logical fallacy at worst.
I didn’t imply that women can’t be just as evil as men, they absolutely can, because they’re human beings. Same for anybody who’s non-binary, they’re just humans.
I’m sorry that happened to you, nobody deserves abuse.
I don’t understand what you mean by data source. It was an internet trend and some men, not all, got really pissy that some women, not all, chose bear instead of man. A friend explained to me why they might do that and it makes sense, at the end of the day it’s people sharing their opinions, and sometimes trying to understand others opinions helps us understand them better.
I don’t see how it’s sexist, I see no proof, only your opinion based on talking points. Same goes for it being transphobic, it doesn’t make sense to me, please clarify.
If anything this is just a conversation, not proof, your word is worth just as much as mine. We’re just two people sharing our opinions, that’s it.
It’s a good goal. I was raised religious but actually left dogmatic religion precisely because I read the bible, and then parts of other religious literature from other faiths.
To me, it’s often too “of the times.” It doesn’t grow, and doesn’t stand up to the scrutiny of time
