    Some things, yes. Others… nah, thats the nanny state in full effect. Telling people that theres danger, and trying to take away personal freedoms arent the same thing. If someone wants to drink, smoke, eat fatty foods, let them. All you we should be doing is saying “yo, that shits bad for you.”. And leave it up to personal choice. This is how it should be for drugs as well.

    Seatbelts, why isnt this a personal choice? If you want to fly through the windshield at 70mph, you should be allowed to. Wearing helmets on a bike. If you want to end up with brain damage after a nasty fall, that too should be your choice.

    We spend all our time trying to keep dumb people alive. And these are the people who dont rubber up. The more of them who reproduce and you get… well, take a look around…

    Andor might be good, but its not Star Wars. And yes, I know some will clutch their pearls at that. But its a fact. Star Wars is supposed to be high adventure. Andor was more focused on being cerebral. It was a fantastic show, and it had some truly gripping moments, but it wasnt Star Wars. It wasnt “fun” in that classic sense. And to be honest, it had no business being called “Andor”. He wasnt the focus, he was only part of the story. It should have been called “Rebellion” or something alone those lines.

    I dont know why Disney is so averse to making more of what everyone loved about the OGs, but here we are. Not one single thing they have made is in the spirit of the OGs and their love of the old serials that George watched when he was a boy.

    “They” didnt do The Expanse. “They” bought it up after it was cancelled by syfy. “They” didnt do that well with the three seasons they had. And Fallout is a fucking mess, that no one seems to care about lore and narrative wise.

    The lord of the rings and wheel of time are 100% Amazon things. Citadel is another one. And they all fucking suck.

    And the showrunner of the new Stargate show, is the same guy who did the sequel series for Quantum Leap. Which was also trash.

    This will be another in a long line of nerd franchises, that will be turned into putrid trash by someone who either doesnt get what made it special, or someone who wants to make it something else altogether.

    Heres the check list you know its already going to have:

    Strong diverse female character lead.

    LGBT focused side character for the express purpose of virtue signal instead of allowing them to be an actual character.

    Strong female teal’q stand in, who is even “stronger” than Teal’q.

    Bad guys will be symbolic representations of modern political pish.

    Every character will speak only in Marvel style quips.

    Someone is going to say “Chevron X locked” with dramatic effect… Because of course, theres going to be a new never before known Chevron that was found by strong diverse female character thats smarter than Danial Jackson…

    Token white guy will be a moron or evil.

    Because in modern hollywood, its message first, adventure second. They cant just create characters anymore, they create social media talking points that walk around saying social media things. Because thats what heroes do… in new hollywood. And then the audience leaves in droves, and the franchise gets shelved again only this time its got massive stain on it.

    This will suck because the focus wont be on making Stargate. It will be social media pish in a Stargate wrapper.

    I suppose the most obvious example is men in sheds. It somethings that was created especially to deal with the issue of male loneliness, especially amongst the older community. Basis for being single gender, was to address those older gents who feel pressures to act a certain way around women. This was that one place they could go and just hang out doing wood working and what not. It was for men to make connections with other men, because men, seemingly, struggle with making or even keeping connections.

    Enter the women, who think its sexist. Who think that men dont need just time to themselves. Theres mixed sex and single sex(female) things all over the place. But some women see men only spaces, and think “Not on my fucking watch!!!”.

    Every day we talk about mens mental health, then some gaggle of cave brained cunts turns up to tell men how they have to sort their own shit out. Men in sheds did just that. Then it got popular, and then that same gaggle of cave brained cunts turns up talking about how male only spaces are toxic… Rinse, repeat, ad Infinium

    Theres a guardian hit piece on the “disappointing” vote to have one of the last remaining gentlemans clubs remain male only. They also have a little go at “mostly white” like thats a fucking crime as well.

    Same thing happened at the Flyers club. Men only for 141 years, then all of a sudden women want in and its sexist not to let them.

    We cant even just play fucking video games, without getting hammered over the head about how its childish and that we need to grow up. God fucking forbid, we have a fucking hobby and some fun together.

    “You could hurt me” is an insult. The amount of men who hurt women, is low. Its really fucking low. But for some reason, we all have to carry the water for that low number.

    Its sexist. Its no different than if I said I didnt want to be alone with a woman because she might claim I raped her. How likely is that? Not very. And I say that as someone that it did happen to. The idea that men are an inherent risk, is sexist. And Im just sick of pretending its not.

    I you cross the street from someone because they are black, we call that racist. But when its man, all of sudden the excuses come thick and fucking fast.
