I’m a steam and gog fan.

I use steam for the ability to plug in any controller I want and instantly be able to use it. I can download controller maps from the community on the fly.
I can stream straight to my TV and play in any room with a TV in it with zero effort. I can join my friends games with two clicks. Remote play allows you to play games you don’t even own with your friends. Works on linux. Integrated workshop. Easy modding.

I use gog for older games not on steam. Works on linux. (Heroic at least)

I could go on with steam, but those are the key points stands alone games don’t offer.

I’m all for rulings against anti competition, but what does valve do that’s actually anti-competitive? They’re the most user focused storefront out there.

Are they stating AAA games have increased in cost because of this? I’ve noticed a lot of new games are $70 to $100+, but I’ve associated those with shitty companies being greedy.

For Arch, add

in /usr/share/wireplumber/wireplumber.conf

adding to restart wireplumber systemctl --user restart wireplumber in konsole

I have a wired Logitech x-540 setup with front left/right and a sub plugged into their respective ports on the mobo.

I have to remove the suspend node on my mint and endeavor setup.

Why does pipewire suspend audio sources by default? This causes a popping sound everytime audio turns back on (~5 seconds).

It took me a while to figure out how to fix this the first time and is a nuisance for anyone trying to learn linux.

I’m about a year in. I started with mint and I’m on endeavor now. It can be a bit fiddly to get setup. Once setup it behaves the same way, but less ads and copilot/edge aren’t forced on you non stop.

The only issue we have is anticheat, and that only affects games like battlefield/cod. So not much of a loss there.

Plug in a mouse and use the joystick as a keyboard. I use it this way all the time and it works amazingly well.

Gta added it to remove linux players thinking they were the cheaters. Cheaters got around it the same day.

To answer your question, anti cheat is used to stop other operating systems from running their games, not cheaters.

In this day in age, everyone copies everyone. If a game has small similarities, so be it. A song and an unused model caused a dmca takedown? Stalker should pay for any lost sales for acting like Nintendo.

I’m hoping their tune will change once companies realize they’re losing millions of dollars from lost sales and paying anti cheat millions.

The new BF sold 7 million copies. If they supported linux and was able to get 3% more sales, that’s 12.6 million usd.
