OK, then run Linux in a VM on the work MS box.

Run MS OS like an app, inside a VM. Retain your Linux install.
First time installing solaar last week. Was from package manager on Trisquel(deb based).
All installed and detected automatically. Probably the same under Fedora.
Try a purge/uninstall of solaar, and then put the dongle in before you reinstall.
(Random aside. If your PC auto-resumes after suspend, it may have picked up a logitech keyboard from another room. Unpair it from your dongle)

AI ate my face.
I’m fucking loving the Funnel-web / Great White Shark combo.
A new movie franchise in the works.
Way less usable.
Needs a toggle to show old-school/new-fruit.
This looked like the most solid path, when I researched about 10 months ago.
Open-source Firmware for Ingenic SoC IP Cameras
Refurb IPods with upgraded batteries, Wolfson DAC, and 512GB SSDs are a thing.
I would actually use Audio-Galaxy Satellite P2P again to find new music.
Had one of the best artist recommendation algorithms ever.
For your local music library tastes, it would first crossmatch to find other users who had the most similarity to your collection, then recommend you the artists that they had, that you didn’t.
Simple and elegant.
* As mentioned elsewhere, Nicotine/Soulseek is the modern leader for recommendations.
I was surprised 5 months ago that Limewire has morphed into doing short-term, web-based, file-hosting under the name filetransfer.io
I needed to share a video, larger than attachment size. Searched for ‘fileshare online’.
The video successfully hosted for free, and was viewed.
No report on how many viruses the viewer picked up /s.

What is your name traveller… 😆

* but also, have a baseball-cap in the car.

Got DIGG to consult.
Trisquel is an Ubuntu base, with all non-free and binary-blobs removed.
Any spyware, data harvesting, tracking, advertising, or hidden code has been removed.
This also means some hardware will not work under Trisquel, because that hardware relied on drivers which were a blob of unreadable code.

I think everyone running Linux should try an FSF endorsed distro, and have it as a general goal to move towards over time. The easy way, is to try it first on a LiveUSB or in a VM.
To really see these distros shine, they need to be used on hardware that has open-drivers available.
To find functional open-hardware, you can use the same hardware models that various online, libre, hardware-retailers are using, such as:
Or trawl through h-node.org to decipher what may work.

A second 100% libre laptop or box is a good idea for sensitive or personal content.
MX Master 3 is the GOAT for productivity. Been testing it for 2 weeks now.
The 125Hz polling rate is a drag for fast gaming though (read up beforehand).
Get the Master 3S for silent mouse-clicks.
The Master 4 is reported to be a downgrade too.
