I’d long been mulling over what distro to switch my family computer to soon. But after years with Steam Deck and digging through so many suggestions for months, I really think I’m just going with SteamOS. Good enough.

Strawberry is super confusing with playlists. Out of caution, I have learned to save Playlists multiple times to a file and try to close them all before opening/playing new stuff.

Too many times I’ve experienced selecting something new to play not only replace the currently playing, but replaces the Playlist, and it seems to overwrite it immediately.

That’s what they wanted. Small government. Bootstrap. All that. Feds have been widely lambasted, shit on, gutted for resources, and now those left operate in a constant state of fear and worry just trying to do a decent job for this so-called society.

Get fucked.

They won’t. Establishment Dems want this as well. Repubs are doing it for them, and then any elected Dem then would likely be more of the watered down same, and they’ll quietly allow the status quo to continue.

Maybe they’ll stop the gutting. Maybe they’ll slim down some high profile things like ICE a bit. But largely they won’t ramp up hiring to return to any previous scale.

Also FYI, the last time the US Federal government lost employees on this scale was under Clinton in the 90s working bipartisan with a Repub congress.

Reminds me of everyone during the pandemic house frenzy telling us to sell our house, and talking about how seriously they were considering selling theirs, cause prices are up so much.

You’re in the wrong argument. The argument was about speeding and you’re trying to bring up recklessness in a mote general sense. Twisting the argument to make a poor point.

Based on experience, I don’t trust random assholes to determine for themselves when a rule is unreasonable. You’re unreasonable with this take and presumption about yourself. This makes you dangerous to society. You’ll prove that even more as you disagree.

You do not get to determine on your own that your actions have near 0 consequences. That’s some level of psychopathic thought and just reinforces why we have some rules. It’s also a lack of empathy or consideration of others.

AoE III was excellent. It explored new ideas and did it well. As a long time AoE fan who played all of them since the first, AoE II is massively overhyped, and AoE III is unfairly shit on.

Also they were voluntold to do Halo Wars, and they did a good job on it. It’s a good game, and it did an excellent job on console with a controller scheme, which was impressive at the time.

Ensemble got shafted. They were held up at the time as the leaders of RTS and Microsoft didn’t give a fuck. Just used and abused.

AoE online was clearly executive suite demands. Of course it fucking sucked.

Also look into informational interviewing and maybe see if someone can connect you with a current job-holder. People are surprisingly nice and it may be feasible to get their time to get an understanding of their field and daily work life.

Absolutely follow the data and put in the effort to find out.
