Federal Judge Richard Stearns said he appreciated the government acknowledging the error, calling it a “tragic” bureaucratic mistake. But he appeared to rule out holding the government in contempt, noting the violation did not appear intentional. He also questioned whether he has jurisdiction over the case.
“It might not be anybody’s fault, but she was the victim of it,” Stearns said, adding at one point that Lopez Belloza could explore applying for a student visa.
It 100% was someone’s fault, but the federal legal system won’t hold them accountable.
And if state legal systems won’t hold them accountable either, that leaves the system we had before legal systems, and the rich and powerful really doesn’t want the 99.99% of society to come to the conclusion that’s what it takes, because mobs tend to focus on revenge more than actual justice…
But revenge is better than nothing, and nothing is what we’re getting from the people we agreed should have a monopoly on justice and violence.

Like. Step back and think for a second about all the fucking police resources a city has, all the surveillance and shit that goes on.
If he wanted to gather information on who ICE is, he has avenues to identify them besides asking residents to follow them around with cameras knowing full and well that gets people attacked by ICE.
If Walz was still a highschool football coach and saying this, I’d give him props.

He’s better than Jeffries and Schumer, but that’s not enough for a mayor these days, let alone someone running an entire fucking state. Bunch of words and zero action just like Newspm and Pritzker. If shit was fine they could be decent leaders, but they’ve shown time and time again they won’t take any actual action when we’re being murdered in their states by federal agents.
They don’t have the fight in them, so we can’t afford to let them be leaders during a fight.

Like, he can just have cops follow ICE and document with their body cams or even a dude with a camera. That would be much better evidence later. And they could actually intervene when ICE breaks the law.
He can use stingrays to ping their phones as the roll out of where they deploy from

There are so many more options a state has to stop federal overreach and abuses than random citizens can.

I’d argue not only do they act the same, a high percentage of recent ICE were likely at 1/6 in the mob.

I think the only reason he hasn’t done it yet, is he needs to hold it thru midterms to fuck with or outright cancel elections in blue states via puppet appointees.

I’m saying that they have the advantage in violence. They have the literal state monopoly on violence.
The state’s mo only on violence is part of the social construct and only exists when people have the belief the system is relatively fair. The majority no longer believe that.
But no, it’s not necessarily martial law.
They’re literally using ICE killing peaceful protestors as justification. Like, right now, today they’re doing it:

Like, anytime we’re talking about guns in America, it’s important to remember that a shit ton of guns don’t legally need to be registered anywhere.
Even Cali, handguns and rifles need registered when sold. So who knows how many existed before that rule and have never been sold since.
Many blue states have made it difficult to arm ourselves.

Even if there are mandatory waiting periods, that just means it’s a good idea to go now.

ICE is murdering people left and right, and trump is using the fact that protesters are being shot and killed as justification.
People think MLK strategy alone will work, but he was very vocal that it wouldn’t have without Malcolm making the only other option violence. Passisive resistance doesn’t work when the other option for the abusuers is “just keep abusing me bro, it’s cool”.
Passive resistance only works when the only two options are:

Our one advantage was we were one of a handful of industrialized nations whose manufacturing power wasn’t bombed to hell and back.
Plus, we still sent a shitton of young men to die, so after the war we had a small labor pool which is why factory workers could get a job at 16 and retire at 60 with a full pension.
But our population rebounded, workers became cheap, and then we just sent all of our manufacturing overseas to help corporate profits.
This was always going to happen eventually, it seems sudden but the process has been going on for 40 years at least. Like, it’s been ending for as long as it was going on at this point, there’s nothing quick about it.
Random trivia:
In WW2 Greenland rejected Danish sovereignty because the nazis had captured the Danish government.
The US stepped up and filled the vacuum so that Canada, Norway, or anyone else would claim it, then just let them go back to the Danes after WW2.
Anyways, that’s why Greenland has been so cool with US military bases, and we just threw all of that goodwill away.
This will result in a lower US presence over there for decades, if it ever comes back.

Like, it’s not exactly common, and even when obvious murder they immediately claim it was defensive.
It’s “boy who called wolf”, no one is going to believe them. Even if there’s video of a guy charging ICE, to say they’re not at fault in anyway is stripping all context from the situation.

Then why did Biden say he could get the dem platform thru a Republican majority Senate if he was elected?
