  • I was there for a while. I finally got around to it and played semi regularly for a year and a bit, took a year or two off, and then finished off what was apparently the last quest of the base game lol

it’s a decent game. you don’t need to a ton of time to make it worthwhile but you do need to play it in slightly longer individual chunks (playing 30 min at a time isn’t very viable).

if you can, give it a try. but yeah it does require some time, it’s not like popping into minecraft for a bit or mini metro for a round. but it’s also not like civ’s ‘just one more turn’

I liked the story, environments, and gameplay. I found I enjoyed it best when I actually relaxed into it instead of trying to rush through and complete stuff, so again yeah maybe won’t be possible for your available time. but it’s not necessary to complete it to get enjoyment out of it. around a third of the way through to halfway through is probably where I enjoyed it the most. maybe even earlier?

  • yeah we don’t tend to have logical home choices like that over here in Canada

we also like to design bathrooms in such a way that the sink is immediately in front of the opening door, which means you’re not allowed to put the light switch adjacent to the door knob of the closed door position where it would be really convenient and intuitive, which means it’s usually awkwardly beyond the door knob in the open door position, because we never have light switches outside of the room they control

  • yeah, I actually like it now, but that’s mostly because they made the start menu so fucked up and full of shit

I’ve adjusted to just hitting start and typing the first few characters of what I want to open and slapping enter. I’m okay with that process, I actually kind of like it. I don’t need to look at what’s going on and I don’t need to move my hand over to the mouse. The only problem, and this is kind of a big thing, is that yeah it doesn’t search just my fucking installed programs, and sometimes it just opens another program that doesn’t even match what I typed. so the 60% success rate at best is kind of a big failure

  • One of my bosses was screen sharing with me this week and had co-pilot up in Excel. I don’t know what he was doing with it. he started fucking around with it while he was screen sharing, just doing something unrelated to what we were talking about. I know he was just trying to bait me into asking what was going on.

fuck that, I don’t care, I know you love your AI, I don’t give a shit, it’s not useful for what I do and I don’t want to talk about how it can almost do something kind of right

  • Microsoft removed my quick access links to my desktop folder today

why? I don’t know. I guess they want to force me to use the OneDrive desktop folder. which I do use, for shit I want synced to OneDrive. but I also have a local desktop folder I use for temp files, and fuck you very much Microsoft left me fucking use my computer how I want to

side note, I had a little program that would export a file that a user had open to their desktop in a specific format. great program, super useful for the application we were running it in, it made a multi-step process of navigating menus into a single button click. I’ve been using it for the past few years at this company. cue my surprise when some new people inform me that the button doesn’t work for them and so they haven’t been using it - BECAUSE MICROSOFT TOOK AWAY THE LOCAL USER DESKTOP FOLDER LMFAO. it blew my mind that people had to go manually create a desktop folder, I had never thought to add checking if that folder exists to the code.
