Utterly ridiculous for a singleplayer game. These aren’t even listed on the Steam store page. For some reason I thought id was better than this.
It’s blocked from firewall so I don’t think it’ll successfully call back home (unless they did some Steam networking trickery I guess). I just hate this bs on principle.
ID Software died long ago. It was sold to Zenimax 20 years ago.

Thank God we have FreeDoom, but that’s only a WAD replacement for ultimate DOOM and DOOM II.
Especially after it was bought by Bethesda and then later Microsoft.
Look at GZDoom. And add a BrutalDoom addon. Good old Doom but modern and with Blood-tier amount of blood :)
you also have UZDOOM(for the engine,works for GZDOOM mods) and project brutality(fork of brutal doom,adds improvements and such,currently in alpha) as alternatives
while the zombies will be from Doom instead of FreeDOOM on both mods,its alr and minor issue.
Microsoft owns it now.

They are still making one of the most exceptional games at the market. Not independent - yes. But if it’s the price to actually deliver games this quality - sign me up.
So… To the OP - agree the agreement and just play. It didn’t make the game worse.
