They are also building a facility to house 30,000 in Guantanamo Bay, which currently holds about 200. For context, the largest current maximum security prison in America holds 8300. They clearly intend to detain a lot of people. Why would they need such huge facilities if they are just going to deport them as fast as possible?
OP is correct. Once the immigration problem has been dealt with, those camps will require prisoners for the new American economic model. Imagine how much more profitable corporations could be if most labor costs could be replaced with AI, Automation, and Federal 13th Amendment Slave Labor.
But they’re just criminals, so who cares? Unless they make things like Debt, and Unemployment, and Homelessness illegal. Need government assistance to eat? You are welcome to work it off in the camps.
After all, just handing money to poor people would be immoral. They need to work it off, so they can understand the value of a good work ethic. It’s the work that will make your freedom even sweeter.
