Are there any good server-based podcast managers out there?
I am particularly interested in these features:
- Follow podcast feeds
- Stream podcasts in the browser
- Remember where I paused across devices
- Also works on mobile via web or app
AudioBookshelf ticks all those requirements.
I second AudioBookShelf. Although I don’t use it for podcasts, I use it for audiobooks, but it does do all the things you mentioned.
I recently learned it can do podcasts and even has a podcast search so you can easily add them.
Waaaaaait I’ve never thought of using it for podcasts. Been using Pocket Cast but maybe I should take a look.
+1 audiobookshelf. I use for audiobooks and podcast and it just works.
Acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations, contractions, and other phrases which expand to something larger, that I’ve seen in this thread:

2 acronyms in this thread; the most compressed thread commented on today has 10 acronyms.

I use https://github.com/akhilrex/podgrab with audiobookshelf
I have no idea about podcasts. But since no one mentioned it yet, perhaps take a look at Funkwhale. It’s a decentralised platform, like Lemmy, for music and podcasts.
Spiritual successor to podgrab is podfetch https://github.com/SamTV12345/PodFetch
