This is the way. I found I was getting annoyed every time I would feel the buzz of a notification, almost to the point I was ready to throw my phone in a toilet. I ended up disabling notifications for everything but work related stuff, and even that I made sure only pings me during the work hours.
Hold down on it and go to notification settings and turn them off.

I feel obligated to respond to most if not all of them because of lemmy’s need for content, and I just don’t wanna. But I also don’t want to just clear them entirely. Some are dating back multiple months…
NCleaner on Android. I set it up, never looked at it again.

It’s ok to ignore notifications too, you don’t need to actively respond to them.
