Idk, I try real hard to remind others that Tanner, the Night Shift manager at the Circle K, is NOT the reason women are oppressed, and making him feel like he’s the reason does nothing to support our equality cause.

We genuinely do have to support men having space to air their issues with society/the world, and let them know that they’re heard/understood.

The patriarchy hurts everyone, including the dude who is told to swallow his feelings/frustrations and he is only allowed to be interested in sex/woodworking/hunting to be a “real man” and “accepted” by his bros.

So like, maybe we could not laugh at men’s struggles and still support ladies?

    Edit: Changed “head” to “heard”

Bruh, yes, I know exactly what you mean. I’m actually getting ready to replay D:BH again because the last time I played was about 1.5+ years ago, and I think I’ve finally forgotten all my decisions. My husband said I got one of the best endings he’s ever seen someone get, and I really didn’t want to be tempted to answer everything the same. There’s SO MANY ways that game can go/end, and I want to explore them all!

I made the mistake of playing Until Dawn first, then D:BH, and then I downloaded the Dark Pictures Anthology and played 2 out of the 4 of those. I’m sure those would have hit different had I played them first, but knowing that the ending is ultimately the same no matter which direction you go definitely ruins the replayability. All 4 run into the very issue you were worried about with Detroit.

  • As someone who lived in Texas for a decade, I was fully prepared for the US to abandon me after we voted in Greg Abbott again. Gubnatorial elections are popular vote elections not affected by Gerrymandering. We didn’t even have THAT excuse.

That being said, I always said that the rest of the US should cut off everything Oklahome going South and Texas going East as long as they offered a refugee program for those of us not batshit insane.

The only thing that would suck would be leaving behind the kiddos who dont have a say in where their crazy ass parents choose to live.

  • So she’s actually as repugnant as he is, and her views are just as bad. I can’t remember her name and I can’t be bothered to look it up because fuck her, but she’s a minor influencer in the Conservative sphere. She goes on the streets and does those stupid shock value “interviews” with strangers.

For anyone curious, this is from a series that a Lefty political commentator, Luke Beasley, did, where he and her sat together and tried to have measured discussions about their views. It was interesting, but it only went on for about 6 episodes, and it was rocky the entire way.

Its all up on YouTube. And I watched. And despite her showing the smallest glimmer of understanding occasionally, she ultimately could not be convinced to change her views. It didnt help that her vile ass husband was behind the camera the entire time.

Lastly, her husband didnt overtly say the above quote verbatim, but it was definitely heavily implied. This wasn’t putting words in his mouth, its a legit view he has.

  • I, as a pro-birth control/pro-choice lady, believe lady-oriented birth control has nothing to do with that (perhaps naiively).

Pregnancy, even the healthiest, safest ones, are hard on our bodies. That means that anything that prevents them is theoretically better than if we’re constantly/repeatedly pregnant. Even if its harmful for mental health or long term effects on organs. Pregnancy fucks us up outright both mentally and physically. Like day one.

Obviously I’m simplyifying a bit, but you understand the gist of my logic.

Men dont have HAVE to deal with pregnancy, period, so anything that introduces harm, even minutely, is automatically a worse quality-of-life option for them.

Am I pro-male birth control? Hell yeah I am. I just recognize that they’re giving up more than we would be to accept the same risks, given that they dont have to experience pregnancy to begin with, and I dont trust/expect them to do that.

Therefore, it makes logical sense to me that we’re the ones targeted.
