Technology@lemmy.zip•builder.ai has been tricking customers and investors for eight years – selling an advanced code-writing AI that, it turns out, is actually an Indian software farm employing 700 human developersEnglish
9·18 days agoWhat if the the employed Indian is using builder.ai to help him build said software to builder.ai?

82·18 days agoIs there any good alternative to FF that is cross device compatible and keep my sessions between said devices, but without me having to press anything more than “Install” or to type “apt-get install firefox”?
I hear a lot of these newer open source friendly browser, but switching between my pc/notebook/phone/tablet, is a requirement. I’d love to find something that fit that so I could switch.

91·1 month agoThat’s kinda of wasteful isn’t it? Washing a perfectly good towel after a single usage.
If the body was cleaned correctly, you could just air dry and use it like 2 to 3 times.
I use two towels per week, and they never smell bad before I put them for washing.

My dude, I’m just saying something based on my biochemistry degree, as I stated it’s harmless if you INGEST A TINY AMMOUNT ON ACCIDENT, you obviously shouldn’t eat it as part of your diet, and if possible use a cast iron or stainless steel pan, even though is harder to clean.
I’m not talking about politics our corporations, or as you label it my “facts”, I’m talking about science and chemistry.
There’s a nice video about it from Veritasium.
Strictly speaking of the chemical side of things, teflon at it’s normal temperature, is very inert and won’t interact with anything inside your body, that’s doesn’t mean you can eat 1 kilogram of it and be fine.
The point was, if you accidentally scrap the bottom of a pan and ingest a tiny bit of the coating with the food, that won’t make any big harm as most alarmists suggest.

1·2 months agoTo be fair, the IP is basically the only thing they can get, due their encryption they have access to the email body, which complies with privacy, but not anonymity.
Yeah I forgot to mention the heating bit, don’t let it get too hot folks!
Not like it’s good to eat it or anything, but just to help with the worries, teflon is absolutely safe to ingest, it’s a very stable molecule that don’t interact with absolutely anything, it goes in and out basically intact. Of course it doesn’t mean you can EAT it, but ocasional accidental ingestion due “scraping the bottom” are pretty safe.
When people say it’s Toxic, they knowing or unknowingly are talking about the chemicals used to make it, mostly PFOA — perfluorooctanoic acid. These are nasty, and are present GLOBALLY, like everywhere, from the sea to the middle of deserts and even on the poles, that also includes our blood.

1·2 months agoTrue, I don’t think that applies to a FOSS centric community like lemmy tho, nothing wrong with that, it’s just that I think that the wrong expectations are in place, I could be wrong ofc

62·2 months agoThat’s not the problem, as long as one lives in a society, one is bound to participate in it, willingly or not.
If you do not use, someone else will, and sooner or later you will consume something made by said person.
Just “not using it yourself”, won’t cut it.
Well, by the post content and by the laws of casualty, I’ll have to ask, would you like to be called retarded instead of… that?

92·2 months agoHow would I search something I don’t know how it’s called? As I explained the AI is just responsible to tell me “hey this thing X exists”, and after that I go look for it on my own.
Why am I a moron? Isn’t it the same as asking another person and then doing the heavy lifting yourself?

141·2 months agoI’m no AI fan by any means, but it’s really good at pointing directions, or rather, introducing you to topics that you didn’t know how to start researching.
I often find myself asking: “Hey AI, I want to do this very specific thing but I don’t really know what it is called, can you help me?”. And sure enough I get the starting point, so I can close that down and search on my own.
Otherwise, trying to learn anything in depth there is just a footgun.
