politics @lemmy.world•In Blow to Trump, Indiana Rejects GOP Gerrymander
41·7 days agoThat is exactly what the sentence is saying, unless you have reason to believe that the politics of the “unaffiliated” are drastically different from the affiliated. Going by your logic you would need to assume that the 44% unaffiliated are all republicans, which is very unlikely.
Certainly it seems to be close to the presidential election results over the last 20+ years, at 58-40-2 for republican-democrat-other, respectively.
Edit: and indeed, if you add up the 2024 congressional results you get 58-39-3 percent.

332·7 days agoThe proposed map would have targeted Indiana’s two Democratic U.S. representatives to hand all 9 seats to the GOP. Around 45% of Indiana’s party-affiliated voters are Democrats.
So 45% of the constituents, 22% of the representatives.
Sounds to me like they approved a GOP-gerrymandered map.

Guess everything changes when there’s money to be made.
Usually for these devices the application generates ZPL printer data directly. What application are you thinking of using?
Zebra indicates that there are CUPS drivers available for their printers on “some Linux distributions”
There’s also this GitHub repo which promises a better PPD file for Zebra printers.
… 9/10 response. I chuckled!
We’re not. Jack is just another way to say “guy”, “man”, or “dude”
Edit: or more specifically but less relevant now, “peasant” or “commoner”, someone of low social status.
Kind of interesting to compare to “Guy”, another instance of a given name turned into a generic term.
That’s not really a hierarchy thing though.
Just a measure of how skilled / experienced someone is, and how suitable it is for them to be teaching someone else.
I think we need more people sharing their knowledge and we don’t need the blind leading the blind.
I’ll add the PineTime to that. Doesn’t do anything too fancy but it works well enough.

It’s not even about preference but about versatility and adaptability.
You don’t have to be prefer to use them, but being able to deal with the unexpected and figure out the unfamiliar is generally a sign of intelligence.

No way.
