It’s not a circle, it’s a spiral!

Historically, great changes are usually preceded by mass mortality events.

There’s one guy with a mansion on our otherwise modest street who does this. Everyone else just lets nature run its course and mows/weedwhacks a bit as needed.

As a result of his year round chemical use, the only plants that still grow on his self created desert are the hardiest of weeds like thistles, nettles and ivy. It looks like a fallout zone.

People are fleeing into Linux & MacOS in droves. If this trend holds, Ms will lose majority in ~8 years.

The hamberders probably don’t help either.

Is that because it’s too old to be updated? Never had an ipad or iphone, so I genuinely have no clue.

A few weeks ago I managed to sit down for a few hours to put all my ongoing tasks and projects in fucking project management software in order to be able to follow it up better. I’m now afraid of opening the software to look at the mountain of collected work therein.

This was about sending a message: “stfu or suffer the consequences”. Hence, subsequent people who encounter similar will think twice about reporting anything.

Til Black Mesa is a real place.

I’d love to see EU numbers side by side for a fair comparison.

Logically, this would mean the dildo makers are also invited.

All the legal power in the world won’t turn the mush that is his brain back into something serviceable.

I wish I could say we’ll be laughing when all of this fails and all those investments dry up like rain in the desert. But that will come with a cripplingly heavy toll for all regular people everywhere. When these DC’s are abandoned, so will they be. We’re already seeing the start of this from people living near these DC’s who no longer have safe access to water, a good night’s sleep or clean air…

If there’s any upside to the entire situation, it’s that perhaps, maybe, developers will again start paying more attention to optimization instead of just throwing more powerful hardware at it.

Some of the greatest games ever developed for consoles were great because the developers had to get extremely creative with the limited resources at their disposal. This led to some incredibly optimized games that could do a whole lot with those very limited resources.

True. There’s just a couple of subjects that don’t interest me at all, like sports or fashion. Apart from that I’m honestly interested in pretty much everything, I’m very curious by nature.

I think there should be more distinction. One hyperfixation isn’t exactly like all the others. I’ve picked up one or two that have stuck with me throughout the years.

Apart from that it’s usually a period of focus on a certain medium/series/… which can get pretty intense but not exactly the same level as the “true” hyperfixations.
