That’s a good point, and I agree that it can be fun to figure them out sometimes. For me, it’s the rather strict enforcement of these often arbitrary rules by society in so many importants parts of life that makes me miserable.

Depends on who made the secret rules. If they’re my own secret rules that only I need/want to follow, they’re obviously great and a lot of fun, but if they’re secret rules by others and they expect you to know them, then those are the kind of secret rules that suck.
But if I start doing it at 5:37, I’ll always have to do it at that exact time.
Aren’t there people who’ll write CVs and cover letters for you? Maybe I could do that. Okay, new career plan!
I’m sending out applications for a serious career change. I’d have to go through a bunch of training and stuff (again), but this time, it’ll be the right career for me. I can feel it.

I wrote a novel-length story once that I published chapter by chapter as I was writing it, and I’m still incredibly proud of that feat. It’s still in its beta stage, I think. There are plot holes and loose ends because I changed my mind about the story multiple times, which makes some foreshadowing in earlier chapters useless, and so on. It’s been in its beta stage for about two years and I doubt I’ll ever revise it, but it was a nice distraction while I was working on my Master’s thesis.
