101·4 months agoIn the context of a trillion dollar annual military budget with things like $10,000 screws, the idea that entitlements must be means tested to ensure nobody “undeserving” actually gets them demonstrates what this country actually values: the public coffers exist to line the pockets of capitalists at the expense of the public
I mean, the Incan mita system was kind of a centralized public works socialism before the Spanish arrived. Maybe that’s what you were getting at

Edgy humor has a butt to the joke, and/or the joke is made due to someone’s misfortune, at their expense. It’s inherently problematic in the sense that there’s a risk of offense to those who have been victims of similar misfortune. The solution, of course, is to be funny enough that the humor overpowers the offense and/or doesn’t focus the humor on being mean to the victims

171·2 years agoThere was some magic internet data thing where third party apps (like various reddit apps not owned by reddit) access and use reddit to power their apps, free of charge. That’s API. Pretty much all voluntary reddit mods use third party apps to mod. Reddit started charging for the API, making third party apps useless, forcing everyone into the Official Reddit App. A lot of people boycotted or quit.

Really gotta load this onto a flatbed truck and then drive circles around the building
