It’s just natural, ignore how many things we do as a species that aren’t natural, the suffering must be protected.

2·16 days agoIt’s roughly the same for BG3, technically an independent indie studio but also one of the most massive production teams on any game.
IMO indie studios aren’t studios without a publisher anymore, if anything a lot of studios with publishers are more indie than many studios without. Reminds me of decades ago and people calling Blizzard an indie studio before the Activision merger.

1·1 month agoNone of them are comparable to the Steam Machine as it’s not a console. I’m just saying $650 is pretty average console pricing now.

1·1 month agoYou stated incorrect information then doubled down that your incorrect information was true till finally actually looking it up to then assert that out of 3 consoles $500, $650, and $750 that $650 is not console pricing. So yes, $650 is console pricing, what’re you gonna do tell me I’m wrong again because you have some strong feelings?

1·1 month agoNo, the disc driveless PS5 is $500. I’m looking at it right now on the playstation website. The PS5 Pro is $750.
$650 is console pricing now. You don’t have to like it but that is the reality.

3·1 month agoWhile I agree it is cheaper to build your own it also wont be as small as the Steam Machine.
It’s just that Valve has made a point that it will be priced like a PC, if it is priced like a PC then $650 is far too close to current console pricing. I want to be wrong here, I want it to be cheap and really push Linux into the mainstream. I’m just far too cynical and I expect it to be the most pointless product until proven otherwise.

6·1 month agoPlus those Cyberpower PC’s have to factor in a Windows license into the cost.
Honestly, the Steam Machine needs to be less than $800 to be viable.

422·2 months agoThis’ll probably get said a lot around here but the US isn’t a democracy and hasn’t really been one in the past. For instance; the US public overwhelmingly support universal healthcare but it never goes anywhere in the actual government.
We’re just witnessing an oligarchy transition into outright fascism because the US is failing.

281·3 months agoI don’t even think it “kinda is” I think it fully is. Trans rights are currently against tradition and the status quo, this makes trans rights a progressive topic until the day that trans people are so established in the history of a society that it can’t be argued being trans is some new disorder or something.
I hope that one day Trans rights will have been so established globally that to challenge them is anti tradition and uncouth

31·3 months agoIt’s expected of Disney, been supporting fascists since the start.

I’m going to be splitting hairs here so feel free to disregard I just wanted to be precise.
Stab wounds and other immediately life threatening treatment is about as good as can be expected and emergency rooms can’t turn you down for finance/insurance reasons. You’ll get a massive bill but they can’t really deny you healthcare in this instance.
Now, where you get really fucked over is the years and years of preventative healthcare that would normally prevent/treat the worst outcome as well as the refusal to seek help for what should be concerning enough to warrant a hospital visit otherwise over cost. Torn rotator cuff? Take 1000mg of over-the-counter ibuprofen and hope it goes away.
