I’ve heard Apocalypse Hotel is good. Hopefully I’ll find the time to give it a look soon.

It’s crazy to me that Gundam GQuuuuuux didn’t even make the list. Out of the three shows I’m watching this season it by far is my favorite. I guess people must be put off by it being part of a bigger franchise; I’ll admit some parts might make less sense to someone who hasn’t seen the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
I love reading this guy’s words. It’s exactly the sort of thing you’d expect the writer of Chainsaw Man to write and that’s wonderful.
Most Utahns aren’t Mormon these days.
Glad you liked Cipher!
I think I just found crystal triangle on youtube
Yep, that’s the one!
My first time watching Steins;Gate I dropped it right about where you are for mostly the same reasons. I gave it a second try years later and I’m glad I did! It really picks up around… episode 12. Yeah. 12. It takes way too long to get exciting, but when it did I found myself unable to put it down.
Didn’t know this existed! Thanks for putting it on my radar!
I’ve never seen anyone else looking for bad anime to listen to before! I have a few suggestions:
It’s nice to see shoujo fans still get something animated every now and then.
They’re just excited because it’s kind of like they released Skyrim again and they haven’t had their fix in a while.
Maybe the reality is that 80-90% of their programmers actively use tools like Github Copilot and the CEO got really excited about what that might mean. I mean, how could he possibly measure this?
I should clarify something about Fullmetal Alchemist. There are actually two Fullmetal Alchemist anime. The original aired in 2003 and was quite good for a while, but then about 1/3 of the way through the story it caught up with the source material and had to start making things up. Unfortunately I don’t think it did a great job of that. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was made in 2009 and does a really good job of following the story of the original manga. It probably has the best ending out of all the action/adventure anime I’ve ever seen; I highly recommend it. It also has the best English dub I’ve ever seen in an anime, so that’s also something to consider if you don’t feel like reading subtitles.
If you’re looking for another cool fantasy thing I can heartily recommend Delicious in Dungeon. It starts out as a simple adventure where the party is trying to get deeper into the dungeon to resurrect their fallen comrade while scavenging for food along the way. Once it’s taken a few episodes to establish the personalities of the main cast it quickly starts expanding on everything else that’s going on and the adventure gets a bit more complicated. It’s got really cool worldbuilding, character writing, and animation and is easily among my favorites.
I just about lost it when she pulled out that keychain! Reminded me a bit of the start of Wotakoi.
Not a bad faith take, and I disagree that the movie has anything like that. Sure there are events that stand out as significant, and one of them stands out as most significant, but I really don’t think it stands out in a bad or offensive way unless you just don’t like that sometimes sad things happen in movies. But maybe we’re not talking about the same thing. I have no way of knowing.
Yes.
edit: sure would be nice if Lemmy had support for inline spoilers.
The problem is if the user asks the AI a question about the language they’re learning they’ll often get confident bullshit as the response and they won’t know it’s wrong because they’re still learning.
I’ve seen it and I have no clue what “the thing” is here either. Maybe they’re referring to the fact the story is about as happy as you’d expect from the person who wrote it.
Well-deserved; this is one of my favorite movies ever.
One of them is Witch Watch. It’s been fun, but I don’t think it’s better than Gundam GQuuuuuux. The other is Kowloon Generic Romance. TBH I’ve only watched a few episodes of it; it seems like a good story but right now I’m debating between continuing the show or switching to the manga since I’ve heard the anime is skipping a bunch of stuff.
