I always love how business bros use the term “Algorithm(s)” (and now also “AI”) as if that was just a magic incantation or something that you just switch on and it immediately solves whatever problem you might have.

I think people tend to overly generalize to “managers” when they really mean the middle 3-4 of 6-9 layers of management or something.

It’s a beautiful game. One of the best I’ve played. I just love the atmosphere, art style and music

It’s more focused on combat than platforming (tip: you can bounce off some spikes with a well timed downward aerial attack) and the typical metroidvania exploration and backtracking. Except there’s a brutal optional platforming section that I haven’t had the courage to face yet 😅

The bosses are tough, but not unfair. Some of the optional ones and the (true) final battle can be a bit frustrating but that makes finally succeeding just all the more satisfying.

Given that it it’s a couple of years old now it’s cheap to buy even when not on sale, so do yourself the favor and give it a try!

I got stuck in the first dungeon, because one room required pushing two blocks together but I didn’t even think any of these blocks could be pushed at all!

I don’t think the LLM spouting nonsense responses part actively contributes to collecting and learning about user data much. Regular search queries and other behaviors (click tracking etc) already do this well enough and have most likely been using loads of machine learning for many years now

The Switch was the first console I had since the PS2, and the PC “gaming” I did in the meantime was mostly retro games on emulators or a bit of Stardew Valley, so the contrast to that was HUGE.

Another one was re-playing Ragnarok Online months after quitting (and giving away all equipment and deleting all characters) with a friend. We were barely second job class (he was Hunter, I was Priest) and rudimentarily equipped enough to beat Abyss Knights, so we went leveling in the area where those sometimes spawn. AND ONE OF THEM DROPPED A CARD! Cards are extremely rare (allegedly 0.01% drop chance) and monster-specific, and the Abyss Knight card is extremely valuable. So from one second to the next, we practically went from piss poor to rich AF.

Another extremely lucky moment was in Diablo 2: a regular cow in the Cow Level dropped a (perfect!) Windforce, at the time one of the best unique items in the game. I don’t remember exactly but IIRC from some online calculator the chances for this drop were under one in a million (I wasn’t even wearing anything with lots of MF%)
