Or just services.AddSingleton<X>. There’s plenty to criticize in C#, or any language, but this ain’t it. Most of the new language features just make the code shorter without loosing clarity. Really liking newer C# versions.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•VW introduces monthly subscription to increase car powerEnglish
50·4 months agoAh yes, selling me something that is already available but is just locked behind software. And then trying to frame that as somehow a good thing for customers. Just insulting.
I cancelled it when they started to crack down on family plans with separate households. It just wasn’t worth the money to me anymore. I wonder how much more price hikes the remaining customers are going to tolerate. At some point it becomes cheaper to just outright buy music…
Yes, LLMs are too costly for this and require a cloud service, smaller models could run on the client. The main difficulty is getting the training data and preparing it for machine learning.
I feel a bit conflicted about that, do I want that extension to hide the terrible clickbaity titles and thumbnails? For me that’s a good reason to not watch these videos in the first place

3·1 year agoI wouldn’t mind if they were all fictional, but the massive Porsche logo? Come on, I’m not paying for a game just to see product placements. It’s like Death Stranding with the energy drinks again.

Technology@lemmy.world•Bitcoin hits record high as Trump vows to end crypto crackdownEnglish
3·1 year agoThat is a depressing viewpoint. Money doesn’t make happy, it just provides financial security. There are so many more important things to life.
You are deluding yourself if you think Bitcoin can only climb in value. At the end of the day there is very little you can buy with it unless you trade it in for a real currency. And for you to make a profit, someone else had to lose money. It’s a zero sum game. Eventually there will be no more fools to invest in it.
The biggest mistake was to make it a “hub” for all sorts of other uses in my opinion. It shouldn’t be browser based, it should be native and just focus on chatting and calls, that’s it. It could be so much faster and intuitive.

8·1 year agoThe interesting part is, if they say the game is complete or at least in “1.0” shape, it will suddenly mean that people will judge it as a product and not just a vision. CIG won’t call it finished as long as they possibly can.

What does this have to do with .NET? AFAIK all the programs mentioned in the article are written in JavaScript, except Calculator. Which is probably Swift.
