Man, English is so wacky. After reading that post twice the structure fell apart in my mind, and I’m a native speaker. Hats off to anyone who picked up the language along the way.

A Game About Digging a Hole looks to be a fun game to play while your legs fall asleep on the toilet. Only 20% off, but it’s a sub $5 game.

1·6 months agoAre malicious audio files a thing? Is it pervasive on soulseek? Would it be OS agnostic? I was under the impression, that the only way to get malware is disregarding security popups when installing shady stuff from cnet.
I don’t know how to code, but have been my own admin for quite some time. Having malware in containers besides .exe files gives me the heebie-jeebies.

The only reason that last paragraph ain’t outright ai garbage (besides my elegant use of ‘everyperson’, mind you) is that there is a semi-original though buried at the end of it. This paragraph is odacious, so point taken.

71·7 months agoOr maybe even take a step back. Dead internet theory is real and we’re living it, but just because the main subreddits and FB are ai schlock doesn’t mean Lemmy is the only ‘real’ place.
I feel the hardest part is keeping my senses about me when I argue with hivemind mentality. You will probably get a feeling from my writing, that I too embraced the hive speak and mind. And this is where the bots get the everyperson. Bots speak in hivemind and meme format. I think this whole kerfuffle will do wonders for real online discussion, as low-effort discussions will be dismissed as white noise.

1·7 months agoYeah, everything is a remix. I think it all boils down to preferences on copyright and corpos as entities.
It’s easier for me to accept that an inventor gets a 30+ year copyright (or lifelong for that matter) in our current societal setup. I even understand how most things today are a collaboration, so we need bigger entities to hold such copyrights. And this is the point where I personally start seeing the problems.
I feel if we keep this up, art will move towards a l’art pour l’art phase. Mass media will turn into something personally tuned and we’ll be charged a premium for something that was touched by human inspiration. Don’t know if I helped or digressed too much, but these are my worries in the vacuum.

2·7 months agoIt’s still fun to hear the man himself talking about a larger than life virtual reality.
The tech still scares me, I’m not even sure I’d be okay with EEG-like patches that work both ways (scifi, I know), not to mention brain surgery, for pure decadence. But the quality of life benefits really can be huge for many, and that really got my fantasy going, once I ‘accepted’ we figured out the limits and safeties of bodily autonomy.
both corporations and consumers have shown
I don’t think this a preference question. More like something intrinsic to a society based on market.
I’m kinda partial to Rage Against Vanessa Carlton.
They call it ‘The Valley of the Hung Hobo’.

Yes, but with “fixing” the structure, you have robbed it of colloquialism. Maybe it’s just me projecting.
I lived among non-native speakers for the longest time, and shaped my English using my knowledge of other languages to bridge some gaps in communication. Now I’m back to a native environment and catch myself slipping up with my invented phrases.
The thing is, I can’t find another combination of words to convey the exact sentiment so succintly, even though I’m not sure it’s gramatically correct.
