unless I have an insecure password or a security vulnerability in sshd, how would it be a problem? I haven’t had any issues for the last 6 years.

try the pulling CMOS battery thing (you also need to disconnect power btw), if it doesn’t work there should be a CMOS RESET jumper on your motherboard, try shorting that.

Technology@lemmy.zip•Ars Technica Fires Reporter Over AI-Generated QuotesEnglish
2·2 days agoi was thinking of some “automated browser” type, like if the browser returns an error page saying it’s blocked, the LLM would get the "blocked from website"ish error as the page content, and shouldn’t it say something around “I’m sorry, I couldn’t access the website” instead of “Sure! Here’s a summary of that webpage” followed by hallucinated bs. well maybe that’s not the case here?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Every Terminal program should have a black background by default
22·3 days agotbh i prefer white on grey or red on yellow tho, white on black is kinda hard to look at for long. black on white is good but many programs these days output very bright coloured text, almost impossible to read on white bg.
iirc black on white is also the default on xterm

Android@lemdro.id•Motorola confirms GrapheneOS support for a future phone, bringing over featuresEnglish
1·3 days agobruh, most if not all banks in my country require a windows pc (with their rootkit “security software” installed) or a (“unmodified” ofc) android/ios phone sadly. simply using the website cleanly is not an option for many cases, in fact running one inside a secure android rom like graphene is actually one of the best solutions in this case.

1·3 days agonot so sure, but motorola and lenovo does kinda seem separate tho.
motorola devices have kernel sources on github with full git commit history, my lenovo device (Tab P11 / TB-J606F) had only one kernel source release in a tarball that is not up to date with the stock fw, missing a lot of drivers and doesn’t even compile properly (lol)

Linux@programming.dev•Developer's 1994 Linux desktop recreation runs in your browser as a modern web app — open-source project brings old-school CDE interface back from the dead
1·3 days agosure it certainly has some elements that mimics CDE but that’s it. it’s not “1994 linux” or “debian” at all, doesn’t really look much like CDE other than maybe the color scheme. even the window titlebar looks like m$ win95 rather than cde/motif.

Linux@programming.dev•Developer's 1994 Linux desktop recreation runs in your browser as a modern web app — open-source project brings old-school CDE interface back from the dead
8·4 days agobruh i’ve used CDE for a very long time, though that wasn’t “Linux” since CDE didn’t get released as FOSS until 2010s; a 1994 linux desktop would have something like fvwm.
even the window buttons on that web thing look nothing like CDE.
