It’s really only canon until both Wolfenstein and Doom changed their timelines, but the original Doomguy was B.J. Blazkowicz III

According to John Romero and Tom Hall, Billy is also the ancestor of B.J. Blazkowicz, AKA Doomguy. It’s Blazkowicz all the way down.
This sounds more like your experience, than anything over-arching. PC games had less ‘heros’ than console gaming at the time but by 1992 there were tons of characters to latch on to. Dragon quest and Final Fantasy where running on full steam by the early 90s. Mega Man had his 5th game out by then, Mario was getting into karts, multiple Street Fighter games, Sonic in his second outing, and the list goes on. I think the point OP is making is not that every kid had a video game hero, but that they didn’t have to look very far to find one.
We started calling wireless mice hamsters because they got no tail.
I’m on Sway and I use the mouse copy and paste all day everyday.
Yes, yes I do. Brain bad, need sleep.
You can replace the right most column with ‘US citizens’ and still be just as accurate
I wish people would stop censuring themselves on lemmy like they do for the other social medias. You can say shit, and a lot worse now that you aren’t asking a corpo for permission to speak.
Ew GitHub? I’d rather go back to SVN
Yeah, I’m not sure how well YouTube is going to run on Kodi, I’ve never actually tried it. If you have another Linux box around you could install Kodi and try it pretty quickly.
This looks nice!
https://libreelec.tv/ If you like Kodi this is the business. I have had it working with remotes, the biggest drawback for me was streaming services not supporting 4k on the Odroid N2+ I was trying to use. Plex worked great through Kodi, and that was my biggest use case.
If you ain’t pissin’ I’m not kissin’
Good observation, I haven’t seen more than a 5 part form but it might be possible, I have seen 5 part carbon copies though.
It was pink because it was part of a carbon copy form. You write on the top sheet of paper and then you get 3 copies of what you wrote, one for the employee and 2 for other records. Carbon copy paper was very popular before you could just print 3 copies of something.
Uh, hell yeah. I know what I’m listening to on the ride into work tomorrow
It also works on simple objects, not as good as Google yet but good enough for me. I can search for keyboard or bicycle and find pictures that way.
I dumped Google photos for self hosted immich and it’s been great. Not sure if it has the ability to connect to photo frames but if you already self host anything else it’s not too much work to setup.
I think everyone has a sort of ‘social battery’ and I think extroverts just have a bit more capacity than introverts. It’s easy for both to run out, and want some alone time, but it takes less time for some of us.
Right? This just makes me want to emulate every Nintendo everything from now on.
