Taking a moment to thank the creators of Lemmy, who get boatloads of abuse and zero appreciation from the commie/tankie haters. I don’t always agree with their politics, I do on enough, but fact is, none of us would be here, without them.

Most importantly, Samsung has only ever shipped batteries to iFixit that are preglued to an entire phone screen — making consumers pay over $160 even if they just want to replace a worn-out battery pack. That’s something Samsung doesn’t do with other vendors, according to Wiens. Meanwhile, iFixit’s iPhone and Pixel batteries cost more like $50.

Hah! In another thread, I caught dune flack for saying “female.” Thanks.

Thanks! I guess if I’m honest, I’m old, but my mind kind of flip-flops on whether it is old, so I usually opt for “female” when not assuming age (mine or anyone else’s. Some women get nasty when you use a term that isn’t their preferred category–and in my area, have the nerve to be offended when someone has preferred pronouns!).

Tldr I’m a kid at heart.

I mean I had to explicitly type this terms in, to get better replies. But to do that, I had to tell it, “I want to continue the conversation about eating the rich.” But it did continue, so there’s that.

Ohh, this is why all the layoffs! Their going to import employees and pay exploit them. Greedy, greedy M$.

It did the same thing when I asked about wealth inequality and it gave the same tried and failed “solutions,” and I suggested we could eat the rich. When I pressed the conversation with, “No, I want to talk about eating the rich,” it said “Certainly!” And continues the conversation, but have me billionaire-safe or neutral suggestions. When I pressed on direct action and mutual aid, it gave better answers.
