Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.
Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.
We know, they’ve been doing it for decades now.
Votes aren’t the only thing that can be bought.
Everyone is a dipshit consumer because that’s what they’ve been told to be.
“Bribing” is the word you’re looking for. Billionaires are bribing everyone to get the election results they want.
“Fair and square” is a bit of a stretch…
Buying TV commercials and Facebook comments isn’t really bribing anyone. They actually own the media apparatus. They own the two party system. They bought it fair and square. They don’t need to bribe anyone because they completely control every aspect of society. People willingly vote for them. There’s no bribes being handed out on election day.
I agree with your sentiment, but Elon literally paid for voters to come out, and I guess it was somehow legal.
All corners of the world.
Authoritarianism is spreading like wildfire across the globe because the rich and powerful want to remain rich and powerful.
They are using their essentially bottomless pit of money, influence, and resources to shape a world where they are permanently definitively on top.
It’s not just being on the top. Their wealth guarantees they’ll live in a different cast to the end of their lives.
At this stage, it’s a compulsive need for hoarding more and controlling everyone else, as they strongly believe their wealth entitles them to do so.
This is an oligarchy regime.
Seems more like a world where everyones fucking dead at the rate things are going. Then again if we’ve learned anything in recent years its that other than manipulation skills most billionares are fucking idiots.
They don’t care if we’re dead. They care about making an essentially endless supply of money endlesser
I’ve never seen someone make the idea of a billionaire so stupid in one sentence. Kudos
They could have a bunker on 400 hectares with a lifetimes supply of food and water and unlimited creative projects and it wouldn’t be enough. They have to be “worth” a bigger number than the other person. It’s a mental illness.
Having played cookie clicker I understand the appeal of number must go up, but as a human being with empathy I think when you can do some Scrooge McDuck swimming in money shit maybe look for a way to use that money to make a positive impact on the world.
Authoritarianism is spreading like wildfire
The entrenched neoliberal post-Cold War consensus is cracking up.
But anyone who told you that the Reagan Era global order wasn’t authoritarian sold you a box of rocks.
Upper middle class Americans are getting a taste of life outside the bubble. This is what “democracy” has felt like in The Philippines and Brazil and Ferguson, MO for some time.
They are using their essentially bottomless pit of money, influence, and resources to shape a world where they are permanently definitively on top.
When were they not? Do you think the folks fucking kids on Epstein’s Island twenty years ago weren’t doing the exact same thing?
When you snip away the social safety net, drop the illusions of “friendly neighborhood police officer”, and abandon any effort at mitigating the ecological consequences of capitalist expansion, this is what you get.
Clearly. Just look at every local town and village council voting for data centers in spite of sweeping opposition from the constituency. It’s down to the most basic level.
About a dozen twats controlling everyone’s quality of life.
This is the only trickle down theory I know to be accurate.
And as you said, it’s effective too.
Elon tried buying an election in Wisconsin and it didn’t work. Get fucked, billionaires.
He bought the presidency
He rigged the election. Guaranteed.
I don’t think he needed to rig the election. The DNC rigs elections. They subvert the Democratic process by not holding primaries and selecting the worst challenge or possible. If you doubt me, please take a look at the Maine Senate race this year.
That was a good (and satisfying) thing, but it’s not reasonable to expect the Streisand effect to be a reliable deterrent to this worldwide authoritarian power grab.
You rather mangled the URL there. Here’s a simple gift link
